The Kinetico water softener is always installed at the mains water supply; usually under the kitchen sink and is plumbed into the pipes. This is commonly known as the "stop cock"
Some mains water supplies can be located in a garage, pantry, boiler cupboard or downstairs toilet.
You can at times, install a Kinetico water softener outside. This will depend upon the stop cocks location.
